About
Mac Hightower.
Hi!
As a writer, I explore themes of mental health and its impact on society. The goal is for the people who read and watch my work to gain some emotional wisdom.
In 2024, I sold a spec script about my family's experience with mental health that was produced into an award-winning short film, Finding Hero. To date the film's been nominated into 30 film festivals and has garnered awards like the "People's Telly Award" (Gold, 2026), "Best Actor" at Newark International Film Festival (2025) and "Best Short Film" at L.A. Shorts (2025).
In the corporate world, you can think of me a bit like a Swiss Army knife. I think in big ideas and have the people skills to make it happen — like a PR stunt I led over the holidays (People Mag even did an exclusive). I can write social posts, video scripts, web content, blog articles, donor proposals, shoot and edit short-form content, take photos and hopefully, use these talents to change the world.
I've lived in five countries across four continents and speak three languages fluently. Through it all, I've learned that my spark doesn't simply come from flexing my creative muscles — rather channeling it through mission-driven work.
I use my art as a catalyst for change.
For the last few years, I've helped the American Red Cross shape the national narrative for its international work and work with the military. I uncovered and amplified human-centric stories of our mission that inspired people to donate time and money in support of humanitarian work.
I have now relocated to Germany (Stuttgart area) and am seeking new opportunities and collaborations.
